Nearly solid turquoise colour mica
True romance! As I Lie there all cosy in bed, I hear the van start-up and drive away. Hubby must have popped out to get some supplies. After three hours and still no sign of him I decided to check the bank apps to see where he’s gone. One very large receipt from or local tool/wood shop! Yikes! What has he been buying now? We were meant to be saving. When he finally comes back, he’s like a kid in a sweet shop, all excited to show me what he’s got. It also happens to be Valentine’s weekend.
I tell him off for spending so much, but even that doesn’t stop the excitement, so he takes me into the workshop for the ‘ta da’ moment. There on the side is a beautiful, massive lump of white burl wood, a ‘Happy Valentines’ pressie. Oh, the romance is too much! Haha!
We need to make space for it on the shelves to keep it safe he told me, to which I replied, ‘No it won’t last that long!’. That day I cut it into mould size pieces and poured two egg blanks. I couldn’t decide what colour to make them so I asked my girls what colour I should add. Lilymay choose turquoise and Dulcie choose purple. Definitely a family-run business!
The white burl wood has so much detail to the grain it’s now on top of the list to buy when we next find it hidden away in a wood yard.
The light gives an extra bright glow as it reflects off the light-coloured wood and mica powders.
The base is made from Sycamore wood.
The sizes are approx. 20cm high and 10 cm diameter.
This egg is the perfect size for a bedside night light.
The lamp connects to your WiFi and its colour, brightness and effects are controlled by a mobile phone app (Android and iPhone). The app's colour wheel enables any colour to be selected from the palette.
